Natural Material String Deer Fences worked very well this year! Only a young buck attempted to mess with them. The secret thus far has been to string 2 rows, and then one across so there isn’t enough room to land. After keeping 1 up all season, I took it down and the deer continued to avoid it for at least a month. (Resident deer.) it’s a deterrent that biodegrades over time, just be sure deer can’t get stuck if the run into it. I hang some vertical strips of cloth so they can see it. (Older rope gets safer for them.) It’s ugly, but it is saving trees until they can withstand browse.

New Green to Review
Winterberry and Serviceberry plants to replace Honeysuckle. Last of Honeysuckle will be cut once these are doing well.
