The secret thus far has been to string 2 rows, and then one across so there isn’t enough room to land. After keeping 1 up all season, I took it down and the deer continued to avoid it for at least a month. (Resident deer.) it’s a deterrent that biodegrades over time, just be sure deer can’t get stuck if the run into it. I hang some vertical strips of cloth so they can see it. (Older rope gets safer for them.) It’s ugly, but it is saving trees until they can withstand browse.
