Fall Webworm – Not great, but Native

Some IDs from this week –

Common Chokeberry
Giant Godenrod
European Cranberry- NOT Native. ID’d by VBC Cisma
Jack in the Pulpit – good!
Jumpseed – ok
Poets Narcissist–invasive
Reed Canary Grass
Common Chickweed – Not Native
Virginia Stickseed – Native

Also Identified:

Bristly Buttercup (vernal pool)

Northern Dewberry (vernal pool)

Eastern Star Sedge (path entry)

Blue Flag Iris (3 locations)

Graceful Sedge ( entry to wetlands)

Golden Ragwort (river bank, vernal pool area)

Wild Geranium, Mayflower (path before vernal pool area)

and did I mention Multi-Flora Rose? Let’s not. Looks like June before I can get to that mess, but it’s less challenging after seeing great results from binding the branches before trying to handle it!
