Less weeds in the Native plant nursery areas and they are starting to fill in…focused on the yard and weeding this week. Where seedlings are growing, I’ll trim to the ground and either spot spray or mulch to avoid damaging new roots.
Yard areas are designed to attract pollinators and grow seeds for the restoration project.
Berm: Canary Reed Grass has taken the lead, now that other grasses have been sprayed. Will do another round this week, leaving roots and seeding with Native warm season grasses. This area has been frustrating, but some goodness is starting to grow.

Canary Reed Grass takes the Lead…
Replacing the prior Kentucky blue grass and Fescue, Reed Canary Grass exploded this year in several areas on the berm.
After raking cleared areas of the Berm, (3rd year ) grass seeds were spread for deer cover and erosion control. I’ll work 1 area per year to avoid erosion.
